In addition to regular session classes, the Arts Center offers these creative experiences for flexible scheduling and individual and small group exploration.

Art Freestyle Drop-In
K-5th Grade, Mondays through Thursdays // $20 covers all supplies and art making. The studio is open to the first nine students who sign up on drop-in day.
Health and safety restrictions apply and guidelines must be followed to participate. Freestyle Drop-Ins take place inside the Arts Center. Click here for current information.
Try out making art in our studios with a bevy of creative activities guided by a teaching artist. Drop in and art it up to your heart’s content.
Art Kits c an be picked up at the Arts Center and taken home. Prices vary.

Create on your own terms! Be creative on your own, with family, or in your learning pod. Choose self-paced written or pre-recorded video instruction, or opt for a virtual instructor.
Workshops on Demand
$150 for two-hour workshop. Workshops can be scheduled any day of the week, from 9am to 7pm. All workshops are limited to 8 individuals.

Work in the studios with professional teaching artists to create projects in different mediums. Whether you are setting this up for a special group experience or learning pod, these workshops are a wonderful, art-making experience for youth to feel successful and creative.
Many workshops can earn a badge for Scout troops; just look for workshops that include BADGE READY! in the listing.

ART GAMES TOUR // Use the building and gallery spaces in combination to work with friends and on your own to connect art-making to art showing. Activities may include Gallery I-Spy, make a mini gallery, guided sketching and art-making, and more. (Ages 5-18)
ACRYLIC PAINTING // Use acrylic paint in a fun and colorful workshop that will produce your own painting. (Ages 5-18) BADGE READY!
BUTTON MAKING // Make drawings that can be pressed in a button maker to create your own mini wearable art. (Ages 5-18)
MARK-MAKING: EXPERIMENTAL DRAWING // In this fun and engaging drawing workshop, use several fun and strange mark-making methods to create art. (Ages 5-18)
REALISTIC ILLUSTRATION BASICS // Use a variety of observational drawing exercises to start a foundation for drawing realistically. (Ages 8-18) BADGE READY!
MIXED MEDIA SCULPTURE // Create a fun and whimsical mini-sculpture out of a variety of materials. (Ages 5-18) BADGE READY!
PHOTOSHOP FOR ARTISTS // Learn how Photoshop works to manipulate a photo with filters, color, and other digital effects. (Ages 8-18) BADGE READY!
PRINTMAKING POSTERS AND CARDS // Use relief printing to turn your artwork into multiples on paper, posters, stickers, or another 2D media. (Ages 5-18)
SCREENPRINT T-SHIRTS // Go through the full experience of bringing drawings to print as you make a collaborative illustration, burn a screen, and print on t-shirts. Bring your own light-colored shirt. (Min 10/Max 8, Ages 8-10, 11-13 or 14-18)
WATERCOLOR PAINTING // Wash your paper with vibrant color as you learn how to control and create with watercolors. (Ages 5-18) BADGE READY!
GALLERY TOUR // Take a guided tour through our galleries and experience art by observation and conversation. A docent will provide background information, intriguing questions, and objectives throughout our three primary galleries and one community gallery. (Ages 5-18)
DECORATIVE GLAZING // Learn the basics of glazing as you embellish a piece of functional pottery to be fired in our kiln. (Ages 5-18)
CLAY HAND BUILDING // Learn the basics of clay hand building and make a small, ceramic sculpture to be fired in our kiln. (Ages 5-18) BADGE READY!
THROW ON THE WHEEL CRASH COURSE // A process-based workshop that shows you how to throw on the potter’s wheel from start to finish. Although you might not nail it during this short workshop, you’ll want to come back for more! (Max 8, Ages 8-10, 11-13 or 14-18)
