Adult Visual Arts: News for November

Still from the performance Dowagers, by Printmaking Artist in Residence Johanna Winters. Winters will teach Runaway Puppets: Large Scale Sculptures from the Stage, beginning January 9th.

Do you have a post-Halloween sugar rush? In Visual Arts we certainly do! Even though our fall session is halfway over, we’ve planned plenty of upcoming programs and events where you can direct that Smarties-induced energy boost.

Rethink: I Am a Veteran will be performed November 9th, 10th, and 11th. Rethink: I Am a Veteran is a performance and storytelling project centered on the lives of women veterans, their families, and friends. This project, which is designed and led by women artists, focuses on veterans who are women, sharing their first-person experiences.

In conjunction with the event, visiting Project Based Resident Danielle Wycoff will work in our printmaking studio to produce scenic design and a site-specific lobby installation using textile printmaking methods. Danielle hosted a Free Screenprinting Workshop on Saturday, November 3rd, inviting participants to both learn new printmaking strategies, and assist in producing textiles for the production of Rethink: I am a Veteran.
