In this one day workshop on Saturday May 7th, we’ll explore the process of making paper by hand. Learn the basic techniques of Western papermaking. Participants will pull sheets of paper and learn how to create variations of such as: natural inclusions, pulp painting, and double couching. We’ll use a variety of tricks and techniques, making as many sheets of paper as we have time for!
Papers will still be wet at the end of the day, and students will be able to pick of their dried sheets the following week. If you would like to take your damp papers with you, please bring a cookie sheet or other container for transport.
Workshop will be held on Saturday, May 7th from 10 am to 6pm with a break for lunch. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet and pulpy, and get excited to make some paper!
