Picnic on the Prairie was a magnum opus thanks to all the wonderful sponsors, guests, performers, gorgeous decorations, a beautiful setting and perfect weather! We were so pleased to treat 180 picnic patrons to a wonderful meal provided by Evan Williams Catering, wine and spirits from our friends at Cork & Barrel, and beer from O’Malley Beverage. Children danced and sang; the Oread Strings spread beautiful music across the prairie; and the Dave Shelton Band brought guests to their feet to finish the evening with their funkadelic sound. The event plus the basket auction brought in more than $31,000 to help our community enjoy performing arts at the Lawrence Arts Center!
