This year’s summer T-Shirt design was inspired by sunflower drawings created by 6-8 year old’s in Miss Katie’s Drawing & Painting class from the Fall of 2021. Miss Katie picked the sunflowers in local fields and brought them in for her students to draw from life. Each student was encouraged to draw the flowers with their own approach & sensibility.
The sunflower is not only the state flower of Kansas, but also the national flower of the Ukraine. We support Ukraine, freedom, democracy and peace. And we believe everyone should have the opportunity to flourish and grow.
Katie Alldritt & Matthew Willie Garcia worked together to create the design with selected sunflowers drawn by Turner, Lilah, Katya, Sydney, Ania.
