In partnership with KU, KCAI, and local artists, the Lawrence Arts Center is excited to announce stARTup, a new program for high school artists looking to take their art to a professional level. Work on studio practices to make pieces missing from your portfolio while learning valuable entrepreneurial skills to boost your visibility such as website development, grant and scholarship writing, show setup, pricing your art, talking to galleries, and more. Each artist will then create a “body of work” and produce a culminating solo show at a gallery in Lawrence or Kansas City. stARTup your art career Fall of 2016 on Wednesdays from 3:30-6:30 beginning September 7 through May 3. Scholarships and financial aid are available.
