Spring has Sprung Some Amazing Art – With More to Come!

The upstairs hallway is filled with artwork as we wrap up our spring session. If you take a trip to the top floor of the Arts Center you can see cat bell sculptures, Yayoi Kusuma inspired canvases, floral palette knife paintings, modernist sculptures, and SO much more! If you can’t make it in to the Arts Center, please view our gallery of student work below.

In addition to these visual arts classes, HANG12 currently has a show in the gallery. HANG12 is the Lawrence Arts Center’s high school curatorial group. Since its inception in 2015, HANG12 has hung more than 50 shows in downtown Lawrence galleries. More information about the current exhibit can be found here. HANG12 also has an exciting multi-media art event coming up on May 29, called Traffic Jam. This outdoor experience will include music, projections, live spray painting, local artwork and cardboard sculptures by the one and only Juniper Tangpuz. More information about the event can be found here. If you can’t come into view the gallery or join the event, you can shop their merch here!

Our spring session has been a blast and we are so proud of all of the young artists who brighten up the Arts Center halls and classrooms. Thanks for sticking with us!
