The Summer Youth Theatre’s successful season continued with a weekend of sold out performances of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. This beautifully rendered production transformed the main stage into a unique theatre-in-the-round presentation, bringing a profound sense of immediacy to both the characters and the action.
Audiences were seated either with the Capulets or the Montagues and given colored metallic roses. With atmospheric music performed by youth, lighting design by SYT alum Liam Romano, fight choreography by Jamie Macpherson, clever scenic design by Tammy Keiser, and an outstanding display of young talent, both on-stage and behind the scenes, this was one rendition of The Bard’s timeless love story that will not soon be forgotten.
