It’s Alive!

There’s a chill in the air… golden leaves flutter to the ground… pumpkins move from patch to porch… and a volt of electricity shoots out of the Arts Center MainStage… IT’S ALIVE!

Those thudding footsteps you hear on your way to your weekly ceramics class? They just might belong to a newly awakened Frankenstein’s monster as he prepares for his theatrical debut on October 21.

This family friendly production of Ric Averill’s Frankenstein is chock full of spooky special effects and electric surprises by KU Science Student, Andy Banks, eerie sets and gothic costumes designed by Tammy Keiser, haunting original music by UltraVivid’s Mike Quillin and an incredible ensemble of acting talent, including Kansas City’s Walter Coppage.

Costumes are welcome for all audience members (yes, even clowns) and supplementary programming at the Lawrence Public Library includes scavenger hunts, hands-on mad scientist activities and reading lists for all ages.

Don’t miss out on this entertaining and thoughtful adaptation sure to engage the whole family… And if you see a new friend at the drinking fountain with dark boots and a crooked smile, be sure to to say ‘hello!’
