This spring break we hosted our annual Guerrilla Arts Camp and it was a blast!
We started off by creating our guerrilla personas and messages to share with the world. Then it was on to our projects – a mushroom patch, marker self-portraits, driftwood and bead mobiles, magnets, painted rocks, a nature mandala, pocket notes, collages, and stickers! All of the art we created was installed in the community or shared with others. That’s what Guerrilla Arts is all about.
You can find some of our kindness pocket notes in the clothes at Arizona Trading Company in downtown Lawrence, our mobiles and mushrooms are in front of the Arts Center, and magnets attached to anything metal and spread throughout downtown. Posters with our Guerrilla artists portraits and messages are hanging from our skywalk inside the Arts Center.
We always leave this camp feeling inspired and impressed with our young people. Their creativity and kindness brings us and the rest of the community so much joy!
