Tuesday October 1st

Yarn It Forward Soup and Stitch

Learn to crochet or do other yarn craft, or help others to learn. All that plus dinner! Tuesdays through October, 6-8 pm at the Sunrise Project, 1501 Learnard.

 

Friday October 4th 

“Generational Knowledge” by Mona Cliff 

Exhibit of Mona’s work exploring “identity, culture, and mixed heritage” at Travois of Kansas City, Missouri, 310 W 19th Terrace, 6-8 pm.

 

Sunday, October 6th

The Wishing Bench Film

Public observation is welcome for the October 6th filming of The Wishing Bench Film by Marlo Angell. Film production will occur from approximately 9am to 5pm, at 9th and Delaware Streets. The street will not be closed, but a film crew will assist with street crossings & public safety.

 

Saturday October 5th

St Luke AME Church Artistic Experience

Artist John Sebelius and musician Martinez Hillard will collaborate to create a multimedia experience inspired by the work of Langston Hughes at the historic St. Luke AME Church.  The event is free to attend but donations are encouraged. Proceeds will benefit the restoration of the church’s stained glass windows.
