The Lawrence Arts Center is seeking movers, dancers, and performers ages 18+ who are interested in creating an original performance for very young children ages 2-5!
What if we danced the way children draw? Performers in Dot will explore how children move their bodies when they create art and then develop a performance directly inspired by the movement and artistry of children ages 2-5. The performance itself will involve dancing, painting on stage, live music, and moments of interaction with the audience. Prior experience or interest in working with very young children is preferred, but not mandatory.
Things to know about auditioning:
-Please wear clothes you can move in
-Be prepared to move and collaborate with others
-No prepared material is necessary
Audition Date: Tuesday, December 12th, 6-9 pm in the Blackbox Theatre
Rehearsal Dates: January 8-April 1, 2018
Rehearsals will take place January 8th-February 24th one to two times per week (including Saturday mornings). Rehearsals will shift to three times per week February 26th-April 1st and transition to evening rehearsals. Flexibility is possible regarding rehearsal schedule.
Tech Week: April 2-4, 2018
Performance Dates: April 5-7, 2018
