We are pleased to announce the return of Artist INC!
Enabled by a grant awarded by the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission, the program will offer its third Lawrence session beginning in January 2019! Artist INC assists artists at all stages of their career through building creative and financial strategies. Business and budgeting advice for independent makers, social media outreach, strengthening writing skills, seeking collaboration opportunities, the interaction of art and law, and establishing personal goals are among the topics addressed in this eight-week seminar. Developed in collaboration between Mid-America Arts Alliance and the University of Missouri–Kansas City Innovation Center, Artist INC offers a phenomenal opportunity for expanding your artistic practice.
Artist INC Live Lawrence will take place Tuesday evenings, 6 PM to 9 PM at the Lawrence Arts Center from January 15th to March 5th, 2019. We invite you to join our Artist INC Live Lawrence Facebook for program updates, and to apply now!
Applications links are live now, and submissions will be accepted through November 6th at 11 PM.
What Works Workshops
What Works Workshops provide an introduction to the unique professional development program, Artist INC. By attending a What Works Workshop, participants will learn more about how Artist INC is designed to help art professionals learn the tools of the trade and become successful working artists in the community.
We will be hosting two regional What Works Workshops, one to be held in Lawrence and one scheduled for Topeka. Both workshops are free and open to the public for artists of any medium. We’ll discuss topics of goal-setting and planning, portfolio construction, managing multiple income streams, and much more. The application process for Artist INC will also be discussed.
