Member enrollment opens on December 3rd and open enrollment on December 10th! Keep an eye on our website for class listings and the catalog. Winter/Spring classes and programming are not to be missed!
November 22-24 | KU’s University Dance Company Concert
Work by guest choreographer Amirah Sackett, an internationally recognized hip-hop dancer, choreographer, and educator, serves as the finale of this repertoire concert. Sackett embodies her Muslim American identity through combining hip-hop movement and Islamic themes. Faculty choreographers Ashley Brittingham, Claire Buss, Michelle Heffner Hayes, and Marisa Plasencia present work in genres ranging from modern/contemporary to ballet to jazz. The Jayhawk Tap Company will also be featured. Patrons who enjoy discovering the kaleidoscope of ways the artform manifests won’t want to miss this concert! Each piece will be a testament to the power and fearlessness of the human spirit.

November 25 | Last Day of Fall Semester Classes
Monday, November 25th is the last day of Fall classes. If you have a makeup class, details will be communicated to your class via email.

No classes and the building will be closed November 27-29. Enjoy your holiday break!

We invite you to indulge in a delightful tea party before The Nutcracker, A Kansas Ballet, where you can contribute and show your support for Lawrence Ballet Theatre, the Arts Center’s pre-professional ballet company.
Enjoy festive treats and meet costumed dancers as they visit each table. Get an exclusive photo with your favorite character and a commemorative souvenir to take home.
Have a magical time with that special child in your life and create a new holiday tradition while supporting Lawrence Ballet Theatre at the Nutcracker Tea Party.

Upcoming Performances
December 4 | Winter Dance Sharing
Jazz II-III, Tap II-IV, Hip Hop II-III, Irish Dance I-IV, Chinese Dance, Contemporary I-IV, and Modern II-III classes are invited to participate in the Winter Dance Showing in lieu of a final class showing. Choreography will be taught in weekly classes and presented on the mainstage at the Lawrence Arts Center.

Experience the sensation and charm of the Lawrence Arts Center’s original production. A winter family favorite, this ballet is based on E.T.A. Hoffman’s original story and set in Kansas during the civil war. Witness the magic and wonder of this story as Drosselmeyer and Clara defeat the Mouse King and liberate the Nutcracker from his enchanted form.
