School of Theatre & Music Staff Accepted into KS/MO Kennedy Center Partners in Education Training Program

Lawrence Arts Center School of Theatre and Music teaching artists, Kayla Sandusky (left) and Leah Towle (right), have been accepted into the KS/MO Kennedy Center Partners in Education’s training program. The goal of this program is to train a cohort of locally-based Kennedy Center trained teaching artists. These teaching artists will serve as a resource for K-12 educators throughout the Kansas City Metro looking to integrate arts into their non-arts curriculum.

Support for their participation comes in part from the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission. Both instructors are excited about this professional development opportunity and look forward to implementing their knowledge in the Arts Center classrooms!

Kayla Sandusky teaches Summer Youth Theatre and Storybook Drama classes for Pre-K and Kindergarteners.

Leah Towle our lead 1st-4th grade Creative Drama instructor, teaches youth STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math),  Youth Improv, and Adult Acting & Improv.
