The next time you’re headed down Massachusetts Street be sure to check out a new mural on the south side of the Mass Street Music building. The mural was designed by Arts Center instructor and local artist Louis Copt, who collaborated with KC muralists Isaac Tapia and Rico Alvarez of IT-RA ICONS to bring Copt’s Kansas Prairie Fire to life. This mural captures a fleeting moment of the sun setting in the Flint Hills over a spring burn. The next time you see Copt, be sure to thank him for bringing his art to the street for everyone to enjoy. Check out the Lawrence Journal-World article below for more details about the installation.
