LBT Company Members Receive Scholarships

Lawrence Ballet Theatre, the Lawrence Arts Center’s preprofessional dance company, has been a member of Regional Dance America and attended annual regional and national conferences since 2010.

Founded in 1988, Regional Dance America (RDA) promotes the artistic development of dance companies throughout the United States. Annual festivals within each region raise public awareness, knowledge, and accessibility of regional dance throughout American communities. Each festival season, highly esteemed adjudicators tour the regions to select works by member companies and arrange festival programs. The season culminates at the festivals, where participants attend master classes, seminars, and college roundtables during the day, and perform each evening. Member company dancers are seen by college and professional training program recruiters and have the opportunity to audition for awards and scholarships.

In addition to conference workshops and performances, RDA offers scholarships and college recruiting. A cornerstone of their mission, this part of RDA gives young talented dancers opportunities beyond their regional borders. They welcome all professional training programs, company, college, and university recruiters to participate. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the process moved online.

We are so proud to announce the following Lawrence Ballet Theatre company members were awarded scholarships this year!
