Last month, Inventor Grrls visited the Lawrence Creates Makerspace on their first field trip of the semester. Working in teams, the girls put their Google Sketchup skills to use to design a fun object that was printed at the Lawrence Creates Makerspace with the help of Mike Hensley, in addition to receiving a tour of the Makerspace facilities. This week, Inventors will tour Bowersock Mills & Power Co., Lawrence’s very own hydropower dam. Inventors will take a tour of the facilities with Sarah Hill Nelson, co-owner and manager of the hydropower plant. In preparation for their Bowersock visit, Inventors learned about hydropower dams and worked together to design a quick hydro-paddle powered prototype.
