Join Host Ric Averill on the Boys & Girls Club bus and discover Lawrence’s most enthralling Ghosts! Spectral apparitions Mathilda Eriksen (Jeanne Averill), George ‘Nash’ Walker (Byron Myrick), and Larkin Skaggs (Shawn Franklin) join the tour at various bus stops and assist in telling stories of the Ghosts of Lawrence as we drive by their known locations.
Larkin Skaggs was the only one of Quantrill’s Raiders who was killed on the day of the Raid (August 21st, 1863), and that Raid serves as the focal point of reference for the tour. It is, after all, an event that haunts Lawrence’s Free State Fortress to this day.
Locations include the Lawrence Arts Center, the Toy Store, the Wax Bar, the Senior Center/Fire Station, the Sigma Nu House, the Eldridge Hotel, the McAlister House, and many more.
The tour lasts approximately 75 minutes and is appropriate for all ages – unless you frighten easily. This production is thoughtful, haunting, and yet terrifically FUN.
