We bid a fond farewell and a heartfelt thank you to Interim Visual Arts Education Director Kathryn Combs as she prepares for a move overseas to be with family and embark on new creative adventures! After serving as the Lawrence Arts Center’s Studio Manager for several years, Kathryn has excelled in her leadership role this past year, providing organization and inspiration to colleagues, teaching artists, and students alike.
Kathryn has officially passed the torch to new Director of Visual Arts Education and Residencies Emily Ritter who joins us from Wichita. Emily previously served as Assistant Professor of Digital Design and Gallery Director at Newman University and as Associate Professor of Art at Independence Community College. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an emphasis in Printmaking from Wichita State University and a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Arizona State University.
We are excited to welcome Emily to this new role and wish Kathryn the utmost success in her next chapter!
