We just wrapped up an amazing summer of camps in Youth Visual Arts, but guess what…? It’s already time to start thinking about what’s to come in our Fall session!
Our Youth Visual Arts Studio programs encourage young artists to discover and express new ideas using art elements, techniques, and principles. With guidance from teaching artists, students will investigate a variety of art mediums while making connections to big ideas through inclusive inspiration. Students will strengthen their individual skills, gain positive persistence, and express themselves through creative exploration and dynamic art experiences. Join us this Fall for Jungle Creations, Powerful Patterns, Unique Techniques, Youth Clay Studio, and so much more!
Our Teen Visual Arts Studio programs encourage students ages 13-18 to meet and collaborate with fellow art-minded teens while learning to think and work like artists. Teen artists will be introduced to advanced art making equipment, techniques, materials, and concepts throughout Lawrence Arts Center’s artists’ studios. Students will be encouraged to push their individual skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, metalwork, textiles, digital media, photography, creative writing, music, and more through dynamic instruction developed specifically to promote teen artistic expression. Here are a few of our creative Fall offerings — Painting with Acrylics, Teen Writers Club, Wheel Thrown Ceramics, Teen Print Shop, Drawing with Style, Darkroom Photography, and many more!
Interested in getting your teen involved in our creative youth development program StARTup? stARTup encourages teens to create, think and connect with other art-minded high-schoolers through everyday studio practice by exploring the professional and academic aspects of making art. Participants can combine workshop experiences with guided studio opportunities to prepare for academic, professional or personal creative pursuits. For grades 9 to 12. When the Lawrence Public Schools are out we offer our special School’s Out camps. Students participate in creative, project-based learning in both disciplines to create wondrous works of art in a lively and social setting. Communicate, collaborate, and create! This Fall we are offering Fan Art Frenzy on October 14th and Pop Art Explosion on October 20th-21st.
See your students in the studios!
