HANG12 is a group of youth artists and curators who plan and execute a Final Friday show each month. For the June Final Friday the group is accepting submissions for Nouvelle Lumiere, a showcase of youth experimental films that will be a part of the Free State Festival. These experimental films will be culled from both local and national submissions and can be turned into the Lawrence Arts Center by June 1. As a teaser for Nouvelle Lumiere, the group is hosting a concert at the Lawrence Public Library on Saturday, May 14 from 8-10 pm. Three bands, Obi, Fathoms, and Tremors, will play to a selection of experimental films from professional filmmakers. HANG12 will be on site to speak with people about submitting for the Nouvelle Lumiere show and there will be drinks and snacks provided. They have invited local bands to play a “Live Soundtrack” to experimental films and invite you to attend this free, audio visual spectacular.
