Children’s Art To Travel to D.C.

Beautiful Holiday ornaments made by Arts Based preschoolers, kindergarteners and Katie Alldritt’s 1st-5th grade Animals in Art class will be displayed on the National Christmas Tree in Washington D.C. this holiday season. To give you a little history on this tradition, the first National Christmas Tree was lit in 1923 by President Calvin Coolidge. Every year, the tree is decorated with ornaments by volunteer artists from around the country and organized by the National Park Foundation. This year, the Arts Center was honored to be invited to participate on behalf of the state of Kansas. So, if you find yourself in the nation’s capitol this holiday season, be sure to stop by and celebrate not only the work of our youngest artists but artists from all over the United States.
