After eight intensive weeks of professional development, our Artist INC Live Lawrence participants are ready to celebrate! Our graduating fellows, a diverse group of practicing artists across the disciplines of visual arts, performance, and music, will present their final project, Slide Slam talks at the Cider Gallery. Artist INC is made possible in Lawrence by the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission and Mid-America Arts Alliance. Artist INC is a cutting edge training program that empowers artists to take control of their careers by addressing the specific business challenges artists of all disciplines face every day. Limited to 25 participants per session, artists gather one night a week for eight weeks to learn business skills specific to their art practice and apply those skills cooperatively with their peers. Using an innovative class design, artists learn and grow together through artist facilitator mentoring, small group application activities, as well as large group discussion and multi-media lecture.
