What does it mean to be king? Lawrence Arts Center invites artists of all media and experience levels to share their interpretations of the crown. Whether it’s a playful take on Elvis, a thoughtful dissection of the responsibility of power, or a complex examination of royally-sized candy bars, the gauntlet is yours!
The Lawrence Arts Center has put out a call for artists from all parts of the globe for a juried group exhibition. This juried show seeks artwork that falls under the theme of “kings.” Open to both 2D and 3D artwork, this call for art is sure to attract incredible artwork! The application process is simple and has a fee of $25 for up to 3 individual artwork submissions, fulfilling our mission of making art accessible to all. Artwork that is selected by our juror (TBA) will be featured in our beautiful, large gallery space.
In addition to displaying their artwork, artists are eligible to win 1 of 3 cash prizes/awards and have the option to sell their work. For many artists who are starting out, this exhibition would be a great opportunity to experience submitting work to a juried exhibition. Accepted artists are also invited to attend an opening and awards reception and a closing reception hosted at the arts center. 2024’s juried exhibition, 8 x 8, had an incredible turnout, and we had a blast at the receptions! 8 x 8 featured 225 individual artworks all measuring 8 by 8 inches.
For decades, Lawrence Arts Center has been the go-to arts facility in Lawrence. Created around a vision of providing a space for everyone to experience the visual arts, performing arts, and beyond, we’re a destination for accessible art exhibitions, performances, and classes for kids and adults alike, featuring mediums ranging from printmaking to ballet. The vision of the Lawrence Arts Center is to support and build a community that embraces the arts as an integral part of everyone’s daily life.
