With social distancing measures in place, we see less of you coming through our doors every day and frankly, WE MISS YOU! We sure are glad you are staying safe and it always makes our staff smile to see familiar faces in virtual classes, strolling through the galleries and attending outdoor drive-ins. But, we miss the casual drop-bys, too! So, to further our mission of making sure art is for everyone, we are shaking things up with some fun LIVE events that you can experience from the comfort of your own home while they’re actually happening. And if the camera gets a little shaky or the wifi a little grumpy, that’s just half the fun of being able to give real-time emojis and ask those burning questions in the moment!
So far, Associate Director Amanda Pintore has given you a backstage tour of the School of Theatre and Music, Director of Adult Education Kyla Strid hosted a screen printing demonstration with new Print Studio Coordinator Matthew Willie Garcia and Youth Education Director Neal Barbour drew sea creatures with Instructor Katie Alldritt. This week, you might just catch Early Education Director Linda Reimond and Associate Director of Early Education Andria Devlin making projects with materials you can easily find at home. And next week, Or, The Whale artist, Jos Sances, will discuss his exhibit with Melville scholar Elizabeth Schultz. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and YouTube to see the latest adventures. And to quell any fears of FOMO, all videos will stay up on our channels and be shared on our website.
So, ready, set, go LIVE!
