The Lawrence Arts Center Selected for Bloomberg Philanthropies Digital Accelerator for Arts and Culture Program

The Lawrence Arts Center is thrilled to announce its selection to the Bloomberg Philanthropies Digital Accelerator for Arts and Culture Program. The initiative supports leadership development and infrastructure investment that assists cultural organizations in building audiences, increasing fundraising, driving revenue, and delivering dynamic programming.

Marlo Angell, LAC Director of Film, Grants and Special Projects, will serve as the Lawrence Arts Center’s Bloomberg Tech Fellow. Through the program, the Arts Center will develop and implement a technology project with support from Bloomberg Philanthropies. This includes improvements to the Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) and website, making it easier for customers to enroll in classes, reserve tickets and purchase art.

“Ease of access encourages community participation in the arts and helps us fulfill the mission that art is for everyone. I’m thrilled for this opportunity to upgrade our technology, create efficiencies for our staff, and deepen connections to our audiences here in Lawrence, as well as with other participating cultural organizations around the country.”
– Ben Ahlvers, Interim Executive Director

Since 2021, Bloomberg Philanthropies has invested $128 million in the Digital Accelerator Program to support nearly 350 cultural institutions in the U.S. and U.K. Impacts for the 40 institutions in the initial cohort of the program include more than $20 million in new revenue, over 1 million new audience members reached, and 4,000 new artists and partners engaged. The Lawrence Arts Center is excited to put this expertise to use preparing for the future, and building upon the incredible generosity and support of our own community in Lawrence.
