Glow in the Arts
Join us to create art that glows in the dark as we celebrate fall’s lingering night skies. We’ll investigate light and shadow as we create art that illuminates under black light, then we’ll dance with glow sticks and capture our movements with photos.

Bug Zoo
Create a mini zoo with us featuring bugs & their ecosystems (real & imagined.) Our bug zoo will include informative facts, stories, and bug “super powers.”

Draw & Paint (B)
Have fun exploring new drawing and painting techniques and tools! Students will have the opportunity to use acrylics, watercolors, pastels, ink, markers, and more to develop personal art styles.

Home School Blended Arts Studio (B)
This special class will combine performing arts and visual arts instruction, providing opportunities for students to paint, sculpt, and draw while also exploring stage movements, dance, and storytelling skills.

Youth Clay Studio (B)
Students will learn the fundamentals of working in clay while using various techniques to construct sculptural and functional artworks with a focus on hand-building methods.

Crazy About Color
Explore a world of color in this class that will introduce you to artists who are crazy about color. Students will learn to mix and arrange colors to create prints, paintings, and sculptures full of patterns and vibrant colors!

Create fun digital comics to print out and show off! Learn how to make digital art and panel setup to make your own one page comic. A class comic book will be handed out at the end of class.

CLASSES FOR TEENS, AGES 13-16:
Teen Artist Co-Op (B)
This open studio opportunity empowers students to explore their creativity, experiment, build their portfolio, and gain experience in producing art works for sale. Each session includes a check-in to share ideas and open ended guidance. Artists involved in this co-op are invited to have their work featured in our showcases next to the front desk at the Arts Center & will receive the proceeds of any art sales.

Oil Painting
Gain confidence with oil painting as you learn to control a brush and palette knife to create layers of color and render accurate still-life studies.
FYTP2B: 10/21-12/2, TU, 4:00PM-6:00PM, $175
Thrift Flips
Learn to cut, alter, sew, and stitch reclaimed clothing into one-of-a-kind fashion statements. We’ll venture to Arizona Trading Company to spark our ideas and select thrifted garments to transform while learning to use sewing machines, hand, stitching, and other fashion alteration techniques. Students are encouraged to bring found clothing and will have a ‘fashion budget’ to purchase clothes to alter.

Teen Digital Arts: Character Design & Illustration
Create your own characters for an existing or original media! Learn Procreate on the iPad to make sketch pages and rendered illustrations of your characters using basic character design principles.

The Lighted Vessel: Pots with Candles
Learn to make handbuilt ceramic pots which will be used as containers to make candles. Students will also learn how to make candle pillar holders, luminaries, plates and trays.
