2025 Healing Arts Collaborative Juried Show

The Lawrence Arts Center and LMH Health have put out a call for artists from the Douglas County area for a juried group exhibition. This juried show seeks artists who have used art and creativity to help in their healing journey. Whether that is physical or emotional/mental. This unique exhibition opportunity aims to bridge art with personal storytelling. Selected works will be displayed with each artist’s healing story at one of the two LMH gallery locations.

The purpose of the Healing Arts Collaborative is to promote healing, wellness, and increased engagement among LMH patients, families, staff, and the general community by embedding locally made art throughout LMH Health facilities. Patients, doctors, nurses, and hundreds of other people walk through the LMH facilities every day, and the exhibitions that take place at each location are there to bring beauty, vibrancy, and comfort to a place where some may experience difficult or life-changing events.

The 2025 Call for Art is open to all artists living in Douglas County, which includes Lawrence, Lecompton, Eudora, Baldwin City, or any other residence that is within Douglas County boundaries. All artwork submitted through the online portal must be 2D/wall-mounted. Works that are solely 3D will not be considered. The application process is simple and is free of charge for up to 3 individual artwork submissions, fulfilling our mission of making art accessible to all.

In addition to displaying their artwork, local artists are eligible to win 1 of 4 cash prizes/awards and have the option to sell their work. For many artists who are starting out, this exhibition would be a great opportunity to experience submitting work to a juried exhibition. Accepted artists are also invited to attend an opening and awards reception hosted by LMH. In 2024, we had a great turnout of submissions and selections.
