Theatre & Dance for the Very Young presents Where Wesley Walks
Imagination springs to life whenever Wesley walks! Get ready for an action-packed journey where we will hop, shuffle, roll, and discover surprises in this play made specifically for children ages two to six.
This was created through a Play Lab series where we ask questions connecting different movements to whimsical stories. Perhaps when Wesley jumps, sharks emerge from the ocean. Can the sharks be directed with Wesley’s jumping? Or will Wesley dream up a new movement to send the sharks on their way?
Join us to see Where Wesley Walks and explore what you can do when you move, too!
Theatre & Dance for the Very Young productions are interactive and designed for very young children and their families. All ages are welcome. This play was developed in Fall 2023 Playlabs with Director and Devisor Leah Towle.
If you are attending the 6 pm performance on Fri, Jan. 26th OR 11am performance on Sat, Jan. 27th, please note:
This year LAC and KU’s department of Curriculum and Teaching has formed a community partnership for research. For these performances on 1/26 at 6 pm, and 1/27 at 11 am, the LAC will be recording the performances as part of our normal performance curation process. The videos of the performances will be shared with the research team from KU. The recordings will be owned and maintained by the LAC.
Since the recordings may capture audience members interacting with the performance, we would like our audience members to be aware of 1) the use of recording, 2) the sharing of the recording with researchers, and 3) the opportunity to document consent (as per research norms). Research team members will be present at the performances to answer any questions. For any questions please contact Jaclyn Dudek jdudek@ku.edu
Thank you for supporting research that advocates for innovative arts-based programming!
