Stephanie Alaniz (they/she) was born in Corpus Christi, Texas where they received their Bachelor of Fine Art from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in 2016. Alaniz went on to receive their Master of Fine Art from West Virginia University in 2019. They have shown their work internationally in places such as Egypt, France, and Nepal as well as numerous places in the US. They currently live in Emporia, Kansas and teach at Emporia State University. They are a fat queer artist, challenging socially created beauty-norms with the intention of breaking down the stigma towards fat bodies, general fatphobia, and normalizing insecurities.

Learn the basics of the popular printmaking method, silkscreen. Students will study both drawn stencil methods and photographic stencils that can be used to create multiple layer color editions on paper or fabric.
