Kayla Sandusky (she/her) is a dedicated teaching artist, director, and actor with a strong focus on arts integration and social-emotional learning (SEL). With a BGS in Theatre from the University of Kansas, Kayla believes in the importance of using the arts as a tool to help students understand and express their emotions, fostering creativity and personal growth.

Her role as a Teaching Artist Fellow for What If Puppets in the 2023-24 school year highlights her commitment to engaging students through imaginative and interactive methods. Additionally, Kayla's “What Color Are You Feeling?” Residency at the Midwest Trust Center, funded by Speak Up!, a local non-profit for suicide prevention, further demonstrates her dedication to using creative approaches to support students' emotional well-being.

Kayla also brings her expertise as a certified RYT-200 yoga teacher to her work, blending mindfulness practices with arts education. Her ongoing participation in the Topeka Artist INC program underscores her commitment to professional development and community engagement, allowing her to continually enhance her approach to integrating the arts into educational settings. Through these initiatives, Kayla aims to make the arts a vital and accessible part of learning for all students.
