Emily Goodpasture Giles

Emily Goodpasture Giles is new to Lawrence, but has been active for the past twenty years as a director, theatre educator, and director of fine arts in Wichita, KS. Throughout her teaching career she has directed over 100 productions, written 7 full-length children’s plays, and taken one group of students to perform in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. She holds a B.A. in Theatre from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX, and M.S. in Elementary Education from Winona State University in Winona, MN, and a Master of Theatre Studies from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, OR. Over the years, Emily has acted, directed, and costumed designed at many of the theatre in Wichita, and she is currently a member of Speakeasy, an adult improv group. She is so excited to begin working with the creative teachers and students at the Lawrence Art Center.
