IN-PERSON AUDITIONS
Sunday, April 28 | 1 pm–6 pm
Callbacks: Monday, April 29 & Tuesday, April 30
Audition for all June & July shows. Please Register by April 26!
What should I prepare for auditions?
- Please prepare 16 bars of a Broadway or pop song. WE WILL PROVIDE AN ACCOMPANIST
- Please prepare a brief monologue or poem (30-60 seconds)
- Wear clothes you can move in. There will be a short dance call
- Arrive at least 15 mins early to your audition time
- Fill out the above audition form by Friday, April 26

How does the SYT program work by grade?
- 4th graders can choose between participating in the 1st-4th grade camps or the 4th-8th program.
- 8th graders can choose between participating in the 4th-8th grade program or the 8th-12th program.
Not sure what to grade to audition for? Go by the grade you will be in April 28, 2024.
What if I have a conflict on audition day?
If you CANNOT audition in person on Sunday, April 28th, then you may submit a video audition.
***Be sure to include a link to your video audition in the registration form, which is listed above.
What is your SYT conflict policy?
If an actor has more than 3 conflicts they will be automatically placed in the ensemble.

SYT 4th-8th Grade, Junior Musical: Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition
Rehearsals: 3 Weeks, M-F, May 28-June 13 | 1-5pm
Performances: Fri. June 14 | 7 pm & Sat. June 15 | 2 pm & 7 pm
We’re off to see the wizard! After a tornado whisks her away to the magical land of Oz, Dorothy teams up with a Scarecrow, a Tin Woodsman and a Cowardly Lion to find the mighty Wizard of Oz, who can send her home. Along the way, they must avoid the clutches of the Wicked Witch of the West, who is trying to steal the mysterious magic slippers that once belonged to her evil sister… but are now on Dorothy’s feet.
SYT 8th-12th Grade, Senior Play: PUFFS, Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years At A Certain School of Magic and Magic
Rehearsals: 4 weeks, May 28-June 20 | M-TH 4–9:30 PM & Friday 4–7 PM

In this hilarious parody of a familiar story, three potential heroes are just trying to make it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers. Their epic quest takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.

With the help of a Cheshire Cat, an astute Caterpillar, and a righteous Humpty Dumpty, Alice must find her way home and discover who she really is. With original music composed by Ric Averill, this play with music is designed specifically for our Summer Youth Theatre 4th-8th graders.
Adapted from Lewis Carroll by Ric Averill. Commissioned for home production and national tour by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Daring, provocative, and exuberantly entertaining, Cabaret explores the dark and heady life of Bohemian Berlin as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich.
