Job description
The John Talleur Print Studio Internship is an unpaid internship that provides professional development to emerging artists. Interns have the unique opportunity to work with our community of accomplished printmaking instructors, staff members, and our annual Printmaking Artist-in-Residence. We are looking for someone who wants to gain additional experience in helping run and maintain an active community print studio. This position includes assistance in portfolio and professional development.
An ideal candidate has a range of printmaking experience and a strong interest in learning and growing their personal printmaking practice. Applicants must be self-motivated, have strong communication and organizational skills, and work well with others.
Responsibilities:
3 month minimum commitment period, renewable for up to two years. 32 hours per month, or 8 hours per week of studio maintenance which includes but is not limited to:
- Monitoring and refilling chemicals and other consumable materials
- Assistance with fundraising and community outreach events, such as Steamroller Prints
- Assist with long-term improvement projects in the shop
- General print studio maintenance and cleaning
- Coordinate with the Print Studio Manager to determine work priorities
- Hours and times of work to be arranged with the Print Studio Manager on a session by session basis

This internship is for college credit or experience only.

Position requirements
- Over the age of 18
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Some printmaking experience, either courses completed or evidence of self-teaching
- Enjoy making art and have an interest in learning more about printmaking
