Dates for this class were printed incorrectly in the catalog. This class will meet on Wednesdays, September 18-November 6. Learn the basics of 35mm photography, including composition and camera mechanics, film development and darkroom printing. Film, chemicals, and paper provided. Students are encouraged to bring their own 35 mm film camera or one can be provided by the Arts Center by request.

Learn to cut, alter, sew, and stitch reclaimed clothing into one-of-a-kind fashion statements. We’ll venture to Arizona Trading Company to spark our ideas and select thrifted garments to transform in the studio while learning to use sewing machines, hand, stitching, and other fashion alteration techniques. Students are encouraged to bring found clothing and will have a ‘fashion budget’ to purchase clothes to alter.

Lawrence Arts Center is here to ensure anyone—of any age and any background—can connect with a supportive community and flex their creative muscles. With contemporary exhibitions, performances, and an array of music education classes for adults and kids, everyone will find something that’s right for them.

Our primary state-of-the-art facility at 940 New Hampshire St. features classrooms, studios, theatres, and more. To further support the community, we also have a space for classes and rehearsal at 10th & Mass Studios.
