Cecilia Roberts is an artist recently relocated to Lawrence, Kansas from New York City. She graduated from the New York Academy of Art with an MFA in Portrait Painting in 2009, and worked as an oil painter out of her studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn until 2020. Her portraits are an earnest exploration of the passage of time with people, animals, objects, space, and paint. Before moving to New York, Cecilia first discovered her love of portrait painting while studying illustration and painting at the University of Kansas (2002 – 2007).
