VOLUNTEER SIGN UP

We welcome and encourage parent/guardian volunteers as an important component of our process. We believe that parents enhance the experiences of young actors. Your involvement helps us maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for our performers, technicians, patrons, and staff.

We need volunteers for our tech week as well as for all performances!

 

We would love to offer you a free ticket as a trade for your time as a volunteerThey are good only for you and are NON-Transferable

  • If you sign up as an usher or concession assistant, we would like to offer you a free ticket for that performance.
  • If you sign up for backstage support, we would like to offer you a ticket to use for one of the other performances.

Our process has changed a little: All adults working within the arts center, age 18 years of age and older are required to pass criminal background checks to work in the arts center, including volunteer roles.  This information is private and will be kept on file with our Human Resources Department.

 

Step 1: Please register HEREyou will be entered into the system.

Step 2: You will receive an email from our Volunteer Coordinator, Lisa, with the next steps, including filling out a Volunteer Background Check Form.

Step 3: Processing your background check will take 24-48 hours. Once processed, you will receive an email informing you that you are clear and in our “Active” volunteer pool.

Step 4: Once active, you will receive an email with volunteer opportunities and other information.

Backstage Volunteer Sign Up HERE 

  • Black Box Attendants: Assist with checking in actors before the show and help monitor young performers in the Black Box, ensuring a safe and organized backstage environment.
  • Costume and Hair Assistants: Assist with hair, quick fixes, and organization of costumes before, during, and after the show to keep everything running smoothly.

Front of House Volunteers Sign Up HERE

  • Usher – Assist patrons in finding their seats, distribute programs, and help maintain an orderly and enjoyable theater experience.
  • Elevator Usher – Operate the theater elevator for patrons with accessibility needs, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Concessions Assistant – Help set up, and sell snacks and beverages, providing friendly service to patrons before the show and during intermission.
  • Greeter – Welcome guests as they arrive, answer basic questions, and direct patrons to the appropriate areas, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

  There will be 60-90 minutes dinner break between performances

There will be 45 minutes of strike following the final performance- you will take all personal items and clear all of the dressing rooms.

ENROLLMENT
  • All cast members are expected to be present and on time for all rehearsals they are called to.
  • There is a $175 mandatory enrollment fee for all students under 18.
  • There is no additional costume fee but we may ask cast members to provide their own shoes, tights, and undergarments.

COSTUME

Our amazing costumer, Landon Noll, will have a few works days lined up starting next weekend. You do not need to be a master seamstress to help out, if you can use scissors or a hot glue gun we would love your help! So, if you’d like to help us create amazing magic, start the volunteer process now.

Base Costumes:

Base costume for all school children:

  • white button up or polo
  • Grey or navy blue shorts or pants or knee length skirt
  • a navy sports coat jacket
  • Girls: tights, white undershirts. Tank or cami
  • Boys: white undershirts, black socks
  • All shoes: black Mary janes, black docs, black dress shoes, black loafers or any solid black shoe that you can dance in.

 Adults: bring what you think might work for your character on Sundays. Landon has costumes for most adults but will still ask what can be brought from home.

  

Hair: All school children will need to have their hair aprroved by Landon during tech week. If you have a specific idea and you want to try it out please do so and have it done before tech rehearsals

If you have any of these items already in your closet please drop them off to the big back dressing room LABLED WITH NAME or to Landon (also LABLED) when he is at the Arts Center on Sundays from 1-5pm.

 

Please do not go out and buy anything, if you do not have any of the above mentioned items, let Landon know.

We will need help with costume construction, backstage during tech rehearsals and performances, as well as front of house help during performances in the form of ushers and concession support.
