Get a taste of this traditional printmaking technique to reproduce your drawings again and again. We’ll learn to incise lines into plexiglass with a sharp point and use the printing press to create a stack of prints from of our designs.

Travel down the rabbit hole and create a cardboard version of jolly ol’ London with a wonderland twist! We’ll learn about the architectural traditions and the vibrant cultural melting pot of London’s many neighborhoods before building collaborative cardboard structures in small groups. Inspired by a Summer Youth Theater production of Alice in Wonderland, we’ll give our buildings a dream-like appearance and assemble our kid-sized cityscape in the Main Lobby for family, friends, and audiences to tour at the end of the week. (These structures may be too large to take home!)

Make art you can wear as we explore ideas in fashion and other wearable art!

Design a small-scale cardboard building for your toys or pets as you work with fellow artists to assemble a mini-metropolis. We'll learn what types of buildings make a community special before building small-scale cardboard structures. Our finished designs will be arranged in the Main Lobby for family and friends to visit at the end of the week.

Use the printing press to make one-of-a-kind painterly prints using a variety of simple techniques. We’ll experiment with stencils, reductive drawing, and loosely painted mark-making, to produce prints with depth and movement.

Apply your drawing skills to a historic printmaking method called intaglio. We’ll learn to incise detailed lines into metal copper plates using sharp etching needles and how to prepare our printing plates with ink before rolling them through a large printing press. Allowing us to reproduce our drawn image again and again!

Join the weekly TACO Summer Studio Club to hang-out and make art with other teen artists and mentor artists. Each Studio Club member is welcome to bring a friend each week as you build your portfolio, try new tools and techniques, or just relax and express yourself in a supportive environment. Co-Op members receive a discount code for a 20% discount for any teen camp or workshop. There is no obligation to attend each session.

Work together to learn traditional origami folding patterns, then choose your favorite to create oversized paper sculptures for your room or home. Once folded, we’ll use paintbrushes and other tools to add details and embellishments. Cost includes one adult and one child.
