Maya Tillman Rayton
Artistic Director
Maya Tillman-Rayton is a KU graduate with a degree in Human Biology. Currently, she is a faculty member in KU's Theater and Dance Department. She has also recently choreographed a piece for the University Dance Company entitled ""Procession""
Maya's teaching career spans 15 years to students of all ages in Lawrence and Kansas City. She is married to a ""retired"" dancer with two beautiful kids.

Afrodance is a collection of dances originating from Sub-Saharan African countries. Dancers will learn a combination of traditional African, Afro-Carribbean, and African hip hop moves set to African pop and Reggaeton music. This high-energy class will get you moving! All experience levels are welcome.
This class will not meet on 10/31.
Those enrolling are expected to be familiar with general policies, attire, and opportunities outlined in the
School of Dance Handbook.

Based on the original principles of hip hop--love, peace, unity, and having fun--these classes are filled with choreography and cover a wide range of movement styles.
This class focuses on the commercial (LA) styles of hip hop and choreography. Students will learn combinations that feature texture, level changes, and rhythm changes.
Students in this class have the option to participate in the Winter Dance Sharing on Dec. 4
