Maya Sabatini

School of Theatre and Music, Assistant Costume Designer


Maya Sabatini (she/her) is a Lawrence, KS native and a LAC alumni. She has been involved in the performing arts for almost two decades; she started out as a dancer but has now transitioned to costuming. Maya currently studies visual arts education at the University of Kansas and works on productions at LAC whenever she can. This past summer she had the pleasure of working with SYT on Cinderella: Or How Pipsqueak the Mouse Became a Stallion and this spring with LAC’s School of Dance on Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.  She will be working on the SYT production of Cabaret in July of this year as well as teaching the July Costuming Basics class.

Guided by industry professionals, students will learn the basics of costume design and use their skills to bring costumes to life for our exciting summer season! As part of this course, participation in July SYT performances is optional. No class July 4 & 5 in observation of Independence Day. SYT placement is by grade, contact us if you have questions about which program to enroll your child.
