Hak Kyun Kim is originally from Seoul, South Korea. He studied ceramics at Seoul National University of Technology and went on to receive his MFA from the University of Montana in Missoula. Since his residency at the Lawrence Arts Center, he has gone on to curate international ceramic competitions, work as the director of The Decal Studio IN, and teach at multiple institutions including the Kangwon National University in South Korea.
