Gabby McNabb

Dance Instructor

Gabby McNabb is a multi-dance choreographer, instructor, and performer who is currently based in the KCMO area! Originally born and raised in St. Louis, MO, with 23 years of dance experience, Gabby has performed on many various stages (Fabulous Fox Theatre St. Louis, The Muny, World of Dance Chicago, COCA, Worlds of Fun, etc.) and has enjoyed every opportunity that's come her way! She is also in the works with Music Theatre Kansas City (MTKC), Stage Right Performing Arts (SRPA), and Haus of Divas, both performing and choreographing. When she’s not teaching at LAC, Gabby is floating between working full time at KC Pet Project as a Feline Specialist, contracted with Windish Entertainment and being sent to theme parks all across North America to Direct/Choreograph new shows, and teaches/choreographs for various programs across the KC area! She’s VERY excited to be returning for her 3rd year as a teaching artist and can’t wait to get dancing!

The Jazz Dance program features various styles of jazz including classic, Broadway, and contemporary. Beginning students focus on building rhythm, coordination, and character skills until they are ready for syncopation movements, body isolations, dynamic leaps, suspended turns, and stylized choreography. This all-level class emphasizes classic jazz styles while building strength and flexibility. Those enrolling are expected to be familiar with general policies, attire, and opportunities outlined in the School of Dance Handbook. This class accepts Drop-In Dance Cards. Designed for dancers with previous tap experience, this class builds on foundational tap skills through more complex rhythms, combinations, and musical exploration. Participants will refine technique, increase speed and coordination, and deepen their understanding of timing, style, and musicality. Classes encourage both technical growth and artistic expression in a fun, challenging, and supportive atmosphere. Those enrolling are expected to be familiar with general policies, attire, and opportunities outlined in the School of Dance Handbook. This class accepts Drop-In Dance Cards.
