The jewelry, fibers, and craft classes we offer cover everything from the fundamentals to advanced techniques. The choice is yours! For our adult visual arts classes, the descriptions list what to expect from the courses.

Our Fiber, Craft, & Jewelry-Making Class Studios

We’re committed to providing the Lawrence area with a facility that welcomes them into the world of art. This includes our dedicated spaces for fiber, craft, and jewelry-making classes in Lawrence, each featuring the tools and technology they need to safely embrace their inner artist. This also includes our adaptable programs that can be explored in any of our studio spaces.

Our multi-use metals studio, for example, features three enameling kilns, a vacuum form, 10 sewing machines, stained glass equipment, and an assortment of grinders and metal forming equipment.

In this hands-on class, you'll learn how to build a wardrobe of original pieces transformed from thrifted finds. Bring in several pieces you’ve thrifted, to spark your ideas to transform, while learning to use sewing machines, hand stitching, and other fashion alteration techniques. Techniques may include pattern alterations, needle felting, and/or embroidery. The content will be guided by student’s desires. Sewing machine experience recommended.

Lawrence Arts Center is here to ensure anyone—of any age and any background—can connect with a supportive community and flex their creative muscles. Our primary state-of-the-art facility at 940 New Hampshire St. features classrooms, studios, theatres, and more. We also have a satellite space for classes at 10th & Mass Studios!
