Lowrider: A Presentation by Erik Erazo

Lowrider: A Presentation by Erik Erazo

Please join us for a free presentation by Erik Erazo at the Lawrence Arts Center! Erazo has worked his way up from serving as a school security officer to becoming one of the top administrators in the Olathe school district. Through his perspective, Erazo has created programs — like his Lowrider Bike Club — that have transformed the lives of dozens of students, while helping to reshape the community they live in. The club has yielded a 100% graduation rate among participants, many considered at risk of failing high school.

Erazo will be the featured artist at this year’s Art Tougeau Parade. He will bring many of his lowrider bikes and cars for everyone to enjoy. Art Tougeau is excited to show off local lowrider car and bike artists and to help celebrate this theme, ATG received grant money that will support the Lowrider Bike Club, a group of Olathe high school youth who learn how to make lowrider bikes under the direction of Erazo. Art Tougeau grant money will help provide the bicycle kits they build their lowriders with this year, which they’ll show off in next year’s parade.
