Learn to cut, alter, sew, and stitch reclaimed clothing into one-of-a-kind fashion statements. We’ll venture to Arizona Trading Company to spark our ideas and select thrifted garments to transform while learning to use sewing machines, hand, stitching, and other fashion alteration techniques. Students are encouraged to bring found clothing and will have a ‘fashion budget’ to purchase clothes to alter.

We’ll explore the surrounding beaches and jungles and investigate the types of shops, markets, restaurants, and other buildings that make this city special. Working in small groups, we’ll create collaborative cardboard structures which we’ll assemble to make a kid-sized cityscape in the Main Lobby for our families and friends to tour at the end of the week. (Note: These structures may be too large to take home!)
