Come dance to some of your favorite throwback jams! This is a no-stress class where students will learn combinations and simply have a good time grooving. All experience levels are welcome. No class Nov. 27.

Pointe shoes are optional for level VI-VII students. Dancers will explore the use of modern technique in the context of ballet, while moving to non-traditional music. Students at this level are encouraged to attend the Senior Lawrence Dance Intensive.For Grade 6 & Up.

Summer is associated with the element of fire and the heart center in traditional Chinese medicine. Let’s cultivate some joy and connection! Like its “sister form,” tai chi, qi gong includes gentle, flowing movements, and, like yoga, it contains stretches, postures, breathing, and meditation. We will also do tapping and knocking from traditional Chinese medicine to activate pressure points. This practice does not require previous experience and is suited to all levels of ability. Exercises may be modified for injury, limited mobility, or increased challenge. Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move. You can be barefoot, or wear shoes, but no street shoes in the dance studio, please.No previous experience required.

Beginning students focus on building rhythm, coordination, and character skills until they are ready for syncopation movements, body isolations, dynamic leaps, suspended turns, and stylized choreography.No previous experience required.
