The jewelry, fibers, and craft classes we offer cover everything from the fundamentals to advanced techniques. The choice is yours! For our adult visual arts classes, the descriptions list what to expect from the courses.

Our Fiber, Craft, & Jewelry-Making Class Studios

We’re committed to providing the Lawrence area with a facility that welcomes them into the world of art. This includes our dedicated spaces for fiber, craft, and jewelry-making classes in Lawrence, each featuring the tools and technology they need to safely embrace their inner artist. This also includes our adaptable programs that can be explored in any of our studio spaces.

Our multi-use metals studio, for example, features three enameling kilns, a vacuum form, 10 sewing machines, stained glass equipment, and an assortment of grinders and metal forming equipment.

Stone Setting Workshop[24SU]

This workshop will guide students through the stone-setting process from design to finish. Bezel set the stone of your choice by either bringing your own Cabochon stone or choosing one from a selection provided.
Pearl Knotted Necklaces[24SU]

Students will leave this pearl-knotting and bead stringing workshop with a finished necklace. Choose from 3D printed beads and vintage costume pearls, or bring your own materials to use. Open to all skill levels.

Make a pair of copper earrings decorated with a technique using Prismacolor pencils. We will cover sawing, filing, drilling/piercing, basic flex-shaft use, proper shading and blending, and liver-of-sulfur patina application.

Lawrence Arts Center is here to ensure anyone—of any age and any background—can connect with a supportive community and flex their creative muscles. Our primary state-of-the-art facility at 940 New Hampshire St. features classrooms, studios, theatres, and more. We also have a satellite space for classes at 10th & Mass Studios!
