Ghosting Lawrence: A Theatrical Tour of Downtown Haunts

Join host Ric Averill on the Boys & Girls Club bus for a thrilling ghost tour of Lawrence, featuring live reenactments of the city’s most iconic spirits. The tours run from October 24-27, Thursday to Sunday, with 7 pm and 9 pm departures. Tickets are $20 for students, $25 for seniors, and $30 for adults. Actors bring to life figures like Mathilda Ericsson, George ‘Nash’ Walker, and Larkin Skaggs, the only Quantrill Raider killed during the 1863 raid. This one-hour tour blends history and performance, offering a spooky and engaging look at Lawrence’s past.

Cottonwood, Inc. | Color Collision

Cottonwood, Inc. has served adults with intellectual disabilities for over 40 years and provides Retirement Enrichment Day Services in downtown Lawrence. Retirees pursue their leisure interests, and many have the good fortune to participate in printmaking classes at the Lawrence Arts Center. This year, participants present both prints and acrylic spin art! Many pieces are also for sale, with 100% of the sales going to each Cottonwood Artist. It’s their chance to sell their artwork, benefiting the artists and what they’ve created.

Bottles | Group Exhibition

Bottles combines various approaches to the bottle form through contemporary ceramics. The bottle form has been a staple for ceramic artists to create for hundreds of years. These forms can simultaneously help decorate a space and be utilitarian. Artists invited to participate in this exhibit utilize various construction techniques and firing methods to create their ceramic vessels. Bottles will culminate in a rich and varied grouping of ceramic bottles created by a dynamic roster of artists.

Participating Artists: Ingrid Bathe, Samantha Briegel, Israel Davis, Stuart Gair, Chris Hosbach, Meredith Host, Matt Long, Antonio Martinez, Lorna Meaden, Didem Mert, and Brad Schwieger

Fuego, Forma y Cultura | Curated by Blanca Herrada

Each artist uniquely expresses their Latinidad, further showcasing the richness and range of Latin culture and expression. This carefully curated collection celebrates the multifaceted beauty of Latin American traditions, history, and artistic expressions. Viewers are invited to explore themes such as identity, migration, social justice, and spirituality through a selection of ceramic works.
