Learn how to create colorful pom-poms and tassels from yarn in our self guided Art for All in the main lobby during the month of October. These projects are inspired by the vibrant fiber work of one of our long time youth visual arts instructors, Traci Bunkers. Take your projects home with you or hang up on our main lobby wall as part of a collaborative installation!
“Vibrant colors and textures are like a sugar rush for my soul,” says Traci Bunkers, a multi-medium artist and author. With a background in visual communication, she works intuitively, experimenting with media, imagery, and texture while focusing more on the process than the finished product. A lifelong maker, Traci studied graphic design at the University of Kansas and spent a memorable year at la Villa Arson in Nice, France. She is the owner of Bonkers Handmade Originals and the author of Print & Stamp Lab, The Art Journal Workshop, and Print It!. She has taught art workshops nationally and currently teaches youth visual art classes at the Lawrence Arts Center. At home, she hangs out with her dog, Piglet, and her cats Clover, and Pippa.
